ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Today, the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) endorsed Joni Ernst (R-IA) for U.S. Senate in Iowa. Ernst is seeking the Republican nomination to replace retiring U.S. Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA). SCF Executive Director Matt Hoskins made the following statement:

"We're very proud to endorse Joni Ernst for U.S. Senate in Iowa. There are other good candidates in this race, but Joni Ernst stands above the rest. She's a principled conservative, she has strong grassroots support in the state, and she can win this race if she gets her message out. If elected, Joni Ernst will fight to cut wasteful spending, repeal Obamacare, and balance the budget."

SCF launched a website today so its members can donate directly to Joni Ernst's campaign, and set a goal of raising $50,000 for her before the end of the month.

Joni Ernst is a state senator and a Lt. Colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard. She's also a wife, a mother of three, and a grandmother of six.

As a state senator, Joni Ernst has worked to limit government and promote economic growth. She helped pass the largest tax cut in the history of the state, which will return more than $4.4 billion in property tax relief to Iowa taxpayers over the next decade.

As a soldier, Joni Ernst commanded the largest battalion in Iowa and served as a company commander during Operation Iraqi Freedom where her unit was tasked with running convoys through Kuwait and into southern Iraq.

Joni Ernst believes that Washington politicians have ignored the Constitution and abandoned the principles that make America great. If elected, she will fight to cut wasteful spending, repeal Obamacare, and balance the budget.

Joni Ernst has also been endorsed by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Joni and her husband, Gail, live in Red Oak, Iowa.
