Print Friendly
Alexandria, VA -- The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) announced Wednesday that Ken Cuccinelli, the former Attorney General of Virginia, has joined the grassroots organization as its new president.

"I'm honored to serve as the next president of the Senate Conservatives Fund," said SCF President Ken Cuccinelli. "I've always had tremendous respect for this organization and applaud its members for working to elect principled conservatives. SCF has given our nation's grassroots a powerful voice and I'm excited to join them in the fight. I look forward to working with the hundreds of thousands of SCF supporters across the nation to help change Washington."

In an email to the group's members, SCF Executive Director Matt Hoskins said,"Ken Cuccinelli is the perfect person to continue and expand on what Jim DeMint started with SCF. He's a principled fighter who is respected by the grassroots and is passionate about electing the next generation of conservative leaders."

In a video message to SCF supporters, Ken Cuccinelli said, "Going forward, we're going to continue to fight to elect even more conservatives, and that means continuing to stand up to the status quo, continuing to support conservative candidates wherever we find them, and, yes, that means continuing to take on Republican incumbents who've lost their way."

Cuccinelli grew up in Northern Virginia, graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in mechanical engineering; received his law degree from George Mason University, as well as a Master’s Degree in International Transactions.

Throughout his time in public service, whether in Virginia’s State Senate for eight years or as Attorney General for four years, Ken led the fight to defend constitutional rights, protect life and families, stop tax increases, and keep Virginia a low-regulation and pro-free market state.

  • Attorney General, Commonwealth of Virginia, 2010-2014

  • Candidate, Commonwealth of Virginia Governor, 2013

  • Senator, Commonwealth of Virginia Senate, 2002-2010

As Attorney General of Virginia, Ken fought the federal government to reduce burdensome regulations from the EPA, FCC, National Labor Relations Board, and – most famously – was the first to sue to fight the unconstitutional Obamacare.

Since stepping down as Attorney General in January, Ken has relished his return to the private sector where he is thriving as an entrepreneur and a private lawyer.

Ken is a devout Catholic who is married with seven children and resides in Virginia.
