Trump Calls for Term Limits

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Speaking yesterday at an event in Colorado, Donald Trump said, “If elected President, I’ll push for a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress.”

We agree with Trump 100% on this issue, and we have long looked for congressional candidates who support term limits.

We need a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people – not a ruling class that serves their own interests.

Unfortunately, many Republicans in Washington oppose term limits because they are a direct threat to their power.

In 2012, our founder, former Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), offered an amendment expressing support for term limits, but it was defeated by both Democrats and Republicans. In fact, half of all the Republicans in the Senate at the time opposed DeMint’s amendment.

The list of senators voting against term limits included Mitch McConnell (R-KY), John Cornyn (R-TX), John McCain (R-AZ), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Richard Burr (R-NC), among many others.

This is why it is so important that Americans elect true conservatives to the House and Senate – principled leaders who will truly fight for a limited and more accountable government.

If you want to make term limits a reality, please donate to Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) and our endorsed candidates today.

The elections are now less than three weeks away and we need your help to push our twelve endorsed candidates on to victory.

We have now invested over $4.2 million directly into candidates, but we need your help to reach our goal of $5 million by Election Day.

Please help us fight the career politicians by donating right now.

Thank you for supporting the principles of freedom that make America great. Together, we will change Washington by changing the people we send there.
