Speaker Boehner Set To Resign

Friday, September 25, 2015

You did it!!

We have learned that House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) told House Republicans at a meeting this morning that he will resign at the end of October.

While we believe he should resign immediately so House Republicans can fight to stop funding for the President’s liberal agenda, this is a major victory for conservatives across this great country.

I want to personally thank you and all of the members of the Senate Conservatives Fund who have worked so hard to make this happen.

You helped us begin to build opposition to Speaker Boehner in 2014, which led to 23 Republicans opposing him earlier this year.

And you supported Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) financially as he worked to advance the motion to “vacate the chair” this summer.

All of your efforts have brought us to this point, and we’re extremely grateful.

To save this great country, we need strong Republican leaders who will stand up for our conservative principles and not back down.

Speaker Boehner’s resignation is the first step toward that goal.

It’s not clear who will replace Speaker Boehner, but you can be sure that SCF will hold that person accountable too.

Thank you for standing strong for freedom and fighting for principled leadership in Washington. You’re making a difference!

Sincerely,
Ken Cuccinelli II
