Tuesday, October 20, 2015

In the race for U.S. Senate in Florida, there is one conservative and two moderate Republicans. The conservative is Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL) whom we have endorsed. The moderates are Congressman David Jolly (R-FL) and Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera. Here’s a quick list of things in their records to be aware of.

David Jolly (R-FL)

  • One of the most liberal Republicans with a 42% Liberty Score
  • Opposed overturning the DC abortion mandate
  • Voted for the “cromnibus” spending bill
  • Voted against repealing the death tax
  • Voted for a bill that funded Planned Parenthood, the Iran nuclear deal, and Obamacare
  • Voted to fund Executive Amnesty
  • Voted to extend the Export-Import Bank
  • Voted for a budget-busting highway bill

Carlos Lopez-Cantera (R-FL)

  • Supported Charlie Crist’s budget, which included a massive tax increase
  • Supported in-state tuition for illegal immigrants
  • Opposed an anti-illegal immigration law similar to the one passed in Arizona
  • Lead the fight for public funding for the Marlins baseball stadium
