Jerry Moran Caves In Supreme Court Fight

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

Another Republican Senator has buckled in the fight to stop President Obama from confirming another liberal Supreme Court justice.

While meeting with voters in his home state, Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) said,“I think the process ought to go forward.”

Senator Moran said he personally opposes the nomination of Merrick Garland, but he doesn’t want his constituents to think that he’s failing to do his job.

He is, of course, ignoring the fact that his job – the oath he swore – is to defend the Constitution, not to appease liberals who are hostile to it.

Everyone knows that if the process goes forward, the pressure will intensify and even more Republicans will cave.

Senator Moran is up for re-election this year and we’re going to keep a very close eye on his race.

This isn’t the first time Jerry Moran has betrayed our conservative principles. In fact, he has a 68% “D” grade from Conservative Review.

Moran voted for the so-called “fiscal cliff” bill that raised taxes on 80% of Americans, to raise the debt limit, to fund Obamacare and executive amnesty, to extend the Export-Import Bank, and to pass budget-busting highway and farm bills. He even voted to give farm subsidies to millionaires.

Senator Moran was also the chairman of the NRSC last cycle where he carried out Senator Mitch McConnell’s efforts to “crush” conservative candidates everywhere. He even supported Senator Thad Cochran’s race-baiting attacks against Chris McDaniel in Mississippi.

The candidate filing deadline in Kansas is June 1st and the primary is not until August 2nd so there is still time to challenge Senator Moran.

We need strong conservative leaders in the Senate who are willing to block liberal legislation and liberal nominees.

This is no time for spineless Republicans.

Thank you for your continued support. We’ll keep fighting!

Sincerely,
